How many times do we bookmark websites so as not to forget them? Many times, bookmarking has become the most common task while surfing the internet. Even when this function has proven to be very valuable, it becomes almost useless when switching from one browser to another.

Some such as Chrome and Firefox of them are presented with Import/Export options, but they don’t support all web browsers. The solution in view of this issue is to have an external application at hand, such as Transmut, which enables users to import and export bookmarks among different web browsers.
Transmute features support for all versions of Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome and Chromium.
Transmute recognizes the folder where bookmarks are stored and copies them to other browsers’ bookmarks. In this way, it´s possible to organize and synch all our favorite websites among different web browsers.
Transmute features an easy-to-use interface. The whole procedure is done with just a couple clicks. Simply select the source and target browser and hit export and the process will take a few seconds. Another interesting feature is the possibility to create backups before exporting bookmarks.
The only issue encountered is that Transmute currently supports Windows operative system and does not feature Multilanguage support.
All in all, Transmute is an easy-to-use and useful application for those who want to synch their bookmarks quickly and easily. Now that you know what Trasmute is and what it can do, you´ll be able to transfer bookmarks from one web browser to another without any inconvenience.

These new implementations of the “same-old” HTML code now called HTML5. In this version, new features are introduced to help Web application authors, new elements are introduced based on research into prevailing authoring practices, and special attention has been given to defining clear conformance criteria for user agents in an effort to improve interoperability.

Even though it´s still in development stage, there are already a few websites such as YouTube already that include HTML5 elements forcing web browsers to incorporate this new language, that is the of the latest beta of Firefox, Opera and Safari.

As for this new language, the usage of HTML5 allows websites to add new elements or change the language structure removing or replacing unnecessary and confusing tags. This allows the users to browse websites and even save time to search engines. Some of the most important changes are:

SECTION – A part or chapter in a book, a section in a chapter, or essentially anything that has its own heading in HTML 4

ARTICLE – An independent entry in a blog, magazine, compendium, and so forth

ASIDE – The aside element represents a note, a tip, a sidebar, a pullquote, a parenthetical remark, or something that’s just outside the main flow of the narrative.

COMMAND – In HTML 5, a menu contains command elements, each of which causes an immediate action

CANVAS – Canvas element is part of HTML5 and allows for dynamic scriptable rendering of bitmap images.

HEADER – The page header shown on the page; not the same as the head element

VIDEO / AUDIO – Allows you to view audio – video content without any need to install multimedia plugins for the playback.

FOOTER – The page footer where the fine print goes; the signature in an e-mail message

NAV – A collection of links to other pages

Apart from adding and modifying structures, this new language also removes specific tags.

The following HTML elements are those that end up in the list of active formatting elements: a, b, big, code, em, font, i, nobr, s, small, strike, strong, tt, and u.

Frame, frameset and noframes tags are not supported in HTML 5 because it had a negative affect to the usability of a web page.

Acronym is not included because it has created lots of confusion. Authors are to use abbr for abbreviations.

The applet tag has been removed, and the object tag is now the standard.

The isindex has been removed.

dir tags have been replaced for another element such as ul lists.

To sum up, we conclude that this new web-semantic application language, to compensate for all the useless tags from previous HTML versions. Even though it´s still in development stage, there are already a few websites that include their own HTML5 elements, forcing web browsers to incorporate this new language. We´ll how HTML continues to evolve and which changes it may bring to web site design.

Firefox is well-known for its advantages in the field of web browsers, but the Mozilla foundation managed to pull off amazing improvements since its last release. This release candidate includes many new features as well as improvements to performance, web compatibility, and speed.

The new version is available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux in over 70 different languages. New features and changes in this milestone that require feedback include improvements to the Gecko layout engine, including speculative parsing for faster content rendering, as well as the following enhancements:

Improved tools for controlling your private data, including a Private Browsing Mode.

Better performance and stability with the new TraceMonkey JavaScript engine.

The ability to provide Location Aware Browsing using web standards for geolocation.

Support for native JSON, and web worker threads.

Support for new web technologies such as CSS media queries and HTML5 local storage and offline application storage

Downloadable fonts

While this release is considered to be stable, it is intended for developers and members of our testing community to use for early evaluation and feedback. Users of the latest released version of Firefox should not expect all of their add-ons to work properly with this milestone.

The countdown is finally getting to its end, and in a matter of way we´ll be able to try the new Firefox . The long-awaited update one stage closer to full release. Just be patience and relax, all good things are worth the wait.
