In a press release YouTube confirmed several rumors related to the improvements of the popular video streaming website. The main modification stated is related to the video upload size limit. Not long ago, this site allowed a limit of 1GB that has been doubled offering us the possibility of working with videos up to 2GB.

YouTube ups video upload size

This increase was due to work properly with HD format which offers better image quality and videos are much bigger than SD videos. Thanks to this modification users will be able to upload HD videos up to 10 minutes long.

Another change included regarding HD videos, is the possibility of sharing links. Just by adding “&hd=1” at the end of the URL we will be able to share as many videos as we want.
Apart from sharing HD videos, we can add them to our web. In order to do this, YouTube has created a new option located on the customization panel called “HD Playback”. This option automatically adapts the video code so that users only need to copy the code where we want to export it and we are good to go.

Another new feature is the possibility of adding links to the videos, so that users can be redirected to a specific website with a single click. This option has multiple uses that go from advertising to emphasizing the message video with text. Ads can be closed in case we think they become annoying, since they usually become an issue when playing videos. The only disadvantage is that this possibility will be only available for YouTube advertisers and not for common users.

Once again we witness the evolution of Google products. Without a doubt, YouTube will continue to add features to allow users to share their video quickly and easily. Stay tuned for new modifications and improvements on the king of internet video streaming websites
