In the past few weeks, Microsoft has announced that Windows Live Messenger’s new version will support Facebook chat. This news has been received with enthusiasm by the fans of this social network. However, the service itself is not a novelty at all. There are client applications, like Digsby, Pidgin and Trillian Astra, just to name a few, that already do this.

Rumor had it that Windows Live Messenger 2010 version would be more integrated with other social networks, and it has been confirmed by Beta versions recently made available. The news is that now we’ll be able to use the application to chat with our Facebook contacts, which satisfies many users’ needs.
