YouTube will now support videos of up to 15 minutes long

From YouTube´s official blog, and after listening the outcry of million of users, the directors of this video portal have announced that they are extending the limit of loading videos from 10 to 15 minutes.
This decision from YouTube will be, without a doubt, welcome with great enthusiasm from the public. According to the directors, this has been possible since the improvements they made when detecting copyright protected videos or videos already loaded. This leads to a greater amount of free space that will be used in the benefit of this idea.
Between the promotional activities, the staff of YouTube has decided to organize the contest “Your 15 minutes of fame” that will have as a prize being future on the front page for the best videos. In order to compete, the participants will have to enter there videos the tab “yt15minutes”.
Videos lasting more than 10 minutes were already available, but only for official members. After being taken to court numerous times due to copyright issues and seeing how the business possibilities have grown by working officially with big producers and studios, YouTube has decided to develop this new idea to listen to the needs of small creators.
