Some alternatives to image editing: PhotoScape

One of the most complete and simplest applications for image editing is PhotoScape. Not as complex as other programs like PhotoShop, PhotoScape allows us to work easily with numerous tools.

Once we enter the application, we’ll see a general menu from which we can access the different tools. Among them, the ‘Editor’, the ‘Combine’ tool and the batch editor stand out. Although at first sight PhotoScape menu seems to be full of different micro utilities, most of them are run from the same interface.

Once we go through the main menu and enter PhotoScape strictly speaking, we have the possibility of interacting with the tools easily by means of the menu on the top. Once we get used to it, we will work intuitively.

PhotoScape not only offers tools for editing images but also for editing size, formats and for making cuts; it even includes a RAW converter. These tasks can be carried out automatically by its batch editor.

PhotoScape’s weakest point may be that it doesn’t have many filters when it comes to working with images and it only provides the basic tools. However, the management and composition utilities make up for this aspect.
