After a long wait, and due to the users’ criticism for performance inconveniences, Adobe has just released a new version of Flash Player. But although this release features significant improvements as regards security, Flash Player 10.1 won’t live up to the expectations of people using Mac operative systems since it drags out problems when we try to move forward during a video playback. However, the product’s service stands out.
As regards its performance, it is worth mentioning that Flash Player’s latest version includes numerous functions intended for the newest devices. One of them is ‘Multi-touch’, specially developed for mobiles and other portable devices that have touchscreen, virtual keyboard or screen editing, etc. Flash Player is also compatible with devices with accelerometer functions and netbooks.
Beyond these details, or the new out-of-memory management function that reduces the PC utilization, in the daily use of our computer, for example when we use Facebook.com, or other hundreds of websites, we will need Flash Player latest version in order to access the contents in full.
Undoubtedly, the streaming performance was greatly improved. However, as we mentioned previously, users of Apple’s operative systems will still find it difficult to enjoy a ‘perfect’ video playback. We’ll have to wait for the H.264-type video acceleration power, which was announced to be included in a future version.
After all, Flash Player’s latest version is already available for Microsoft, Apple and Linux’s operative systems (and Chrome OS is supposed to offer an update of its plug in soon). In short, we’ll have to get up to date with Adobe, experience the improvements and see for ourselves.
