Avoid defragmentation with UltraDefrag, Auslogics Disk Defrag, Defraggler and JkDefrag

With the passage of time and the frequent use of our hard disk data is usually fragmented, which slows down its operation. There are multiple applications to improve the defragmenter included in the operative system, like UltraDefrag , Auslogics Disk Defrag , Defraggler and JkDefrag. They can compact the information intelligently to help the computer to operate at its best.
To begin with, Auslogics Disk Defrag is an application that includes numerous functions that underpin its defragmenter. It can work secondarily monitoring our disk to work when it is necessary and can be scheduled to carry out a defragmentation at a certain date and time. Auslogics Disk Defrag can also work with several units of large extensions at the same time as well as with one single file or folder according to our needs.
Another utility for the hard disk fragmentation maintenance is UltraDefrag . With a simple and intuitive interface, this program is among the most popular ones. As Auslogics Disk Defrag , the defragmenter can be enabled automatically by means of the schedule. Also, UltraDefrag can exclude folders form the defragmentation thanks to the filters.
Within the world of defragmenters we can also
mention JkDefrag. Its main characteristic is that we can make it completely automatic. As soon as we run this program, the defragmentation starts without the need of pressing any buttons or fixing any settings. Additionally, advanced users can control each aspect of the process as well as schedule maintenance tasks by means of a series of commands.
Finally, Defraggler is an application that allows us to select some or all the files we want to defragment from the disk. One of the most interesting and useful options of this utility, taking into account that the defragmentation process is often long, is that we can pause the process and resume it later.
Since all of them have similar interfaces and functions and use small squares to show the status of data in the disk, it is hard to decide on one of them. However, there are some minor details that make them slightly different: UltraDegrag has useful filters, Auslogics Disk Defrag can monitor while remaining in the background, JkDegrag is simple and complex at the same time and Defraggler can be paused. The choice will depend on our needs and tastes.

Comparing GUI’s is one but how about defragmentation performance? How long does it take to defragment a disk or file?

At first, the title seemed like you were advocating against ultradefrag, auslogics disk defrag, defraggler, and jkdefrag.

@Eric: That’s exactly what it seemed like to me. I read through the article waiting for some “but the problem with all these is…” which never came. The title should be changed to “Avoid fragmentation with …”, since it’s currently either saying to not use those programs for defragging or saying that those programs prevent defragmentation/cause fragmentation

I thought the same thing. At first sounds like a warning against these programs. Poorly worded.

@Same
Agreed, I read through the article because of how the title was worded, then read it again, and realized what it was saying. Misleading.
