Winrar: The most popular archive manager

Between the traditional software for file compression, WinRar has become the chosen one for million of users, since the possibilities this software offers increase version to version and never let down whoever run it.

If we talk about file compression, almost intuitively we thought about the.zip and .rar formats, two of the oldest, effective and popular ones. If we had to name a good compressor/decompression tool, we will consider WinRar , one of the most popular and oldest one, always keeping up to date to the vital and immediate needs of the user.

Nowadays, WinRar offers users a new dual-core processor when compressing and decompressing, offering in addition, the possibility of opening the files in the most varied formats, between them we find: .ARJ, .LHA, .ACE, .BZ2, .GZ, .ISO, .UUE, .7z. Z. Tar and Jar.

This software features an interface that, although is not attractive, is extremely functional. WinRar presents a very clear button panel with all the tools and options it offers to work with the files: add and compress, extract and decompress, check, see, eliminate, search, obtain data and repair the different files’ compression the software supports. Apart from this, the most important functions of the software will be added to the Windows shell, making their access easily with just one click of the mouse.

On the other hand, they stand out its functions for the multivolume´s files creation (compression divided in equal parts) and SFX modality, useful for the creation of auto run compressions under the .EXE format, virus scan and the conversion from a format to another one.

A separate chapter should be dedicated to the Wizard assistant, since even the most inexperience user will be able to create a compressed file, extract the content, and even add or remove files in case we need it.

This is, without a doubt, one of the pros of the software. On the contrary, it would be a useful option if WinRar , beyond supporting ISO files, could also support other files´ images as ngr, img, bin and cue.

Regarding the security and protection of our data, WinRar offers two options: a password system and encryption and coding able to be set up when creating our compressed files. This way, nobody will be able to access our private information.

WinRar is one of the most used and recommended compressors, thanks to its versality and functionality. Before the great demand of this type of software, it will be our personal choice to decide whether this software is the right for us or not.
