Twitter, the social networking is renewed to gather more users
The possibilities web 2.0 offers experience a viral outbreak and as part of it, micro blogging services, too. Twitter.com (that allows posting micro-texts or tweets up to 140 characters) is undoubtedly the best known among them. Although the site is well-known, many Internet users still doesn’t know how to use it. One of the reasons might be that until a few days ago start using it was complicated. However, since the release of its new interface and Twitter.com guide, the service has gained notability and popularity worldwide.
Originally, Twitter.com was thought by their developers as a “… service for friends, family or partners that lets you keep in touch with people through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing? . This simple concept that allow you to be in touch and know small things that happen in the life of your followers and yours, that are not worthing to be in an email or a phone call, seemed to have created a great revolution in the network. This was probed according to the large amount of twitters that shortly registered in the “social network “. This same revolution brought as a consequence an unexpected twist in the use of microblogging service.
Some twitter´s user, were not satisfied by simply telling what they were doing at the moment, giving this tool much more functionality. Since this happened, the application is commonly used to publish events, topic´s opinions or simply to post what is happening “now” in any part of the world. For instance, Twitter.com was used to warn on a robbery emergency, etc.
Although this twist exceeded developers’ own expectations, they managed to adapt this unexpected change by thinking in a new concept for microblogging site: “Share and discover what is happening now, in any part of the world”, which brought a re-designed interface. For instance, its new “home” is oriented to create new users, offering a convenient search bar in the middle of the page and an advisable access button to create a new account. As we said before, this new idea was thought to give the “Welcome” to new twitters and encourage those who are already registered and have spent long hours twitting.
On the other hand, and despite these changes in the “social network”, it is common that, for many new users, using the microblogging service is still difficulty. To make things easier, Mashable launched the guide of Twitter.com (Twitter.com Guide Book) that introduces users in the Twitter.com world in 5 chapters explaining: 1) The basics; 2) Creating your Twitter.com community; 3) Posting management; 4) Sharing in Twitter; and 5) Twitter.com for enterprises.
Finally, the waking up call, both for Mashable for its manual, and Twitter.com for its interface was that it only cover English language (although microbbloging site also offers Japanese as an alternative language). Beyond this, we recommend you to fire up on this addictive world of micro-messages and enjoy both discovering your friends as knowing what is happening in the world right now.
