What better than showing our works in front of an audience using digital slides created in the simplest way in your computer? This modality demands us all our creativity and imagination to create the most original presentations.
In order to do it, we will use one of the Openoffice.org applications, the alternative office of Microsoft Office suite that has all the necessary tools and options to work with documents, spreadsheets and presentations, professionally.

Create a presentation with Openoffice.org slides
The first thing we will need to do is to go to the Openoffice software group and open Impress. When running it, it will appear a blank slide and to the right, a menu called Tasks. Each of the five variants will help us to start working. By default, it appears “Layouts” that will shows us all the slides it has to choose from.
Once we selected the format and completed it, we must define the esthetic. We will select the variant Masters Pages from the drop-down menu and we will see a list of all the slides designs. We can select them one by one and see which the best is, according to our work.
Following with the Tasks menu we now have the variant Table Design. There we will have all the necessary tools to add to our presentation the number of tables we want. These tables are usually very useful since they are the ideal graphical element to support the text that includes each of the slides.
In the Slide Transition tab we can add effects to each element of the slide so that it appears in the presentation. This will give dynamism and an extra touch of esthetic component that will improve the work.
Like the rest of the applications of the Openoffice.org suite, on the top we found the tools bar, to change the font, align the text, save the work, open it, print it, etc.
As we finish the slides we must add others. To do so, we need to go to Insert -> Slide and a new empty slide will appear. As we add them, it will appear in the Slides module, located on the left of the window.
We have talked about selecting the format of the slide, how to design it, how to add effects and we have also explained how to add new slides. Now, once we have finished the work we must see our work finish in order to verify that everything is in the correct sequence. To visualize it in full screen go to Slide Show -> Slide Show and it will appear there.
That is how a slide presentation is created with Openoffice.org. The steps are clear and the software´s elements are simply explained, reason why we won´t have a problem when use it. We must only try it and discover this great application.
