How to back up your drivers

Drivers or controller devices allow our operating system to interact with a peripheral. They are, therefore, fundamental elements when using the different parts of our hardware (video cards, monitor, keyboard, sound card, microprocessor, motherboard, etc.). The most common problem is that when re-installing software or operating system we lose some of them and we do not have the original CD or DVD to reinstall them.

Driver Collector
We can download drivers from some web site or we can take advantage of Driver Collector, an application that allows making backups of the drivers installed in few steps.
The software features a user-friendly interface to carry out all the functions available. On the left panel we found the options detailed per category, device (monitor, keyboard, media, etc.) that has controller working. On the right screen, in a greater size, they are listed the drivers of the device we have selected and finally, at the bottom are described the technical specifications of each of these (driver supplier, version, date, etc).
To make copy of our driver’s device, Driver Collector make this easy. Just select the drivers you need to copy on the main screen. Next, click on the central button: “Copy files” so that the process starts. While the copy is being made, the interface will show you the message “Finding Copy”.
When finishing copying, Driver Collector will show you a warning window with the message “Driver files are ready at c:\Driver Collector \ (folder with the name of the driver)” and will show us the end of the process enable us to continue copying others drivers.
The backup´s directory is by default “C:\Driver Collector”. If we access there we will be able to find the files that are part of the copied driver within a folder with its name.
With Driver Collector you will be able to make backups of your hardware´s drivers in an easy and simple way without downloading them from the Internet.
