File recovery applications are always welcomed since it´s a never ending issue for some people. Whenever we accidentally delete files from our PC, it seems impossible to recover them. That´s why we bring you Data Recovery, a handy and powerful application to recover deleted files.
Even though you may feel very used to handling files and folders, it’s still possible to accidentally delete some important file.
Or maybe one day you’ll wish you’d not emptied the recycle bin with all those files that you deleted a while ago, for reasons you can’t quite remember now.
As everyone knows all too well, once you empty the recycle bin, Windows won’t let you undo the action. But luckily, with Data Recovery all is not lost.
The recovery process starts with searching for the file in question. In this case we’re going to be looking for an MP3 file in a folder that was entirely deleted.
1- In the “All/Part of Filename” field, type the whole or partial filename of the missing file. Above this field you can see a tree structure showing all the available drives, in which the particular drive on which the file was previously stored must be selected.
2.- Next, click on the “Scan” button, which will display all of the deleted files that match the search terms you entered.
3.- Once the drive has been scanned, a message box will pop up, asking if you have found the file you were looking for. If this isn’t the case, Data Recovery provides the option to carry out a more in-depth scan. If you need this option, click “Accept”. Otherwise, click “Cancel”.
4.- In the bottom-right corner of the screen you can see the number of files found, within the “Found” field. Now all that’s left to do is to actually recover the desired file. To do so, select it in the main window and click on the “Recover” button, located in the bottom-right corner. Next, a window will open allowing you to select the destination drive and folder where the recovered file will be saved to. We recommend not overwriting the original file data, we suggest downloading it in the other drive than the drive where the files you want to recover exist. If you get “Runtime Error” on scanning drive, try “debug version”.
5.- After you click on OK, Data Recovery starts the recovery process. When the program has finished it displays a message, asking you to confirm that the file is now present in the selected folder.
The search and recovery process is fast. This program also stands out for its straightforwardness, meaning you shouldn’t have any big problems getting your deleted files back. The only other thing left to tell you is that the “Full Scan” option takes a long time, since it requires Data Recovery to trawl through absolutely every deleted file. To get the most out of the program then, it is important to know exactly what file or files you wish to recover.
