PDF file format has become on of the most popular text format through the internet. The creation of these files from text or images has turn into a simple task thanks to programs such as doPDF. Let´s see how it´s done.
One of the basic uses of computers is text processing and editing, with applications such as Microsoft Word. Printing the resulting documents is almost always the following step. It is not, indeed, a way of creating PDF documents, the most popular formats for sharing documents and for avoiding document changes by others.
As we were saying, having to deal with PDF files has become a daily routine for those surfing the internet. doPDF is a light and simple application that will add a virtual printer for creating PDF documents. Installing it is as easy as for any other software. Once the document ready, transforming it into a PDF document only needs a few easy steps.
During the installation process the user will need have to specify a folder only.
Now we will proceed to explain how to convert documents to PDF format. The first thing to do is select “print”. In most word processors as well as default window applications, the hotkey to print is “ctrl” + “p”, or we can just go to “File > Print”.
A print window will open (which is usually the same for any software) and we´ll see a printer icon on the upper side of the screen together with its name. We´ll have to modify the name this option by clicking on the printer´s name. Another menu will appear.
In this menu there are two options: the printer installed by default –if any- or a second printer called “doPDF ”. We´ll now choose the second one and click accept. As a consequence, instead of printing a page a new window will be displayed.
Once we set a destination folder of the PDF we are creating, click on “Accept” and the file will appear on the folder we selected. As we can see, creating PDF files is as easy as creating any other type of document.
