It´s very common to download files straight from websites and sometimes things can get complicated: your internet connection may unexpectedly reset or your system may simply crash due to hardware issues. To prevent this from happening we can turn to a download manger such as DAP in order to boost your downloads.

download-acceleratorOne of the best is in the field is, without a doubt, DAP, a program that lets you enhance your download speeds, set priority levels when you’re making multiple simultaneous downloads, and even pause and resume them later so you don’t have to leave your PC running for hours on end just to download a file.

DAP is very easy to install, and will automatically configure itself to take over every time you download a file.

First of all, you must install the program by following the steps shown below. The most important thing to remember is that, when you are asked which DAP package you wish to install, you should select the “Free Version”.

The program will take care of configuring all the necessary settings automatically. The only thing that you’ll have to do is open your usual web browser and start looking for that file you wanted to download. When you click on the download link, DAPwill open up automatically.

In the download window, you can add a custom description of the download and choose which folder to save the file to. By default, the program chooses My Documents –- My Completed Downloads. The other important options at this point are Cancel, Open and Download, which is the button to click once you’re ready to start the download. This button also features a drop-down menu where you can choose to save this download and run it again at a later date.

Once the file is being downloaded you can see how it’s progressing, the speed it’s working at and the time remaining before it finishes.

With the download well under way, you can take at look of some of the other options that DAPoffers from its main window. Each button is clearly marked, showing what each of them does. Whether for just one or for all of the downloads, Pause and Resume are the most important buttons.

If any download is having problems or is going very slowly, all you have to do is right-click on the download to open up a context menu. In this you can choose the “Force Download” option and the program will look for more connections in order to improve the download speed. The only catch with this feature is that if no alternative sources are found that download could stop altogether.

Once the file has finished downloading it’s ready to use. All you have to do is open the folder that you selected at the beginning of the download process and locate the download inside. As you can see, the process is very simple and everything is taken care of more or less automatically, which makes DAP a very handy tool to have installed.
